Building Leadership Capacity

Towards the end of 2005 a Mentoring Program was established at Bendigo Senior Secondary College to support Flagship Strategy 3 - Building Leadership Capacity.

“A teacher mentoring program clearly demonstrates a school's commitment to people and to the values of continuous learning and professional excellence. It confirms the importance placed on leadership, staff performance and a robust and supportive collegiate community.”

The Mentoring program at BSSC consists of five partnerships. Staff were asked to volunteer to be part of the program and appropriate partnerships were established. A two day professional development program was then facilitated by Muffy Hand to both Mentors and Mentorees to assist in establishing a firm basis for the following year.
